1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Draft My Lesson, available at draftmylesson.com, an AI-powered lesson planning tool for teachers. Draft My Lesson, by Drafted By, is an independent digital service operated within the European Union. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to be bound by these Terms in their entirety. If you do not agree, you must not use the service.

2. Description of Service

Draft My Lesson enables teachers to generate lesson plans, student handouts, exercises, and assignments from parameters provided by the user (subject, grade level, duration, pedagogical direction). All content is generated by artificial intelligence models based on the teacher's input.

3. Account Registration

  • You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and use the service.
  • Each individual may hold only one account. You agree to provide accurate information during registration and to keep your login credentials confidential.
  • Email verification is required to activate your account.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Free Plan & Pro Subscription

The service offers two tiers:

  • Free Plan: 2 lesson generations to explore the platform.
  • Pro Subscription: unlimited lesson generations at US$14.99/month or US$119.99/year for the US and international edition; £11.90/month or £99.90/year in the UK; €14.90/month or €129.90/year in Ireland; A$24.90/month or A$224.90/year in Australia; CA$20.90/month or CA$164.90/year in Canada; and NZ$24.90/month or NZ$224.90/year in New Zealand. UK, Irish, Australian and New Zealand consumer prices are final totals inclusive of applicable VAT or GST. For US and Canadian accounts, any tax that Stripe is configured and required to collect is shown before payment.

Web subscriptions are processed by Stripe and can be managed through the Stripe customer portal or the website account settings. iOS subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. The price and billing period shown by StoreKit when you confirm an iOS purchase control that transaction, even if a website price differs.

App Store subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel them before renewal as required by Apple. You manage or cancel them in your Apple subscription settings, and you can use Restore Purchases in the app for an eligible purchase. Cancellation stops future renewal but normally leaves Pro access active until the end of the paid period. Apple handles App Store billing and refund requests under its applicable rules.

Before a web payment, the checkout separately requests acceptance of the terms, immediate activation and acknowledgement of the possible effects on withdrawal rights. Immediate activation removes a withdrawal right only where all applicable legal conditions are met. Where an EU consumer withdrawal right applies, the consumer generally has 14 days from concluding the contract to exercise it by a clear statement to [email protected]. Refund and liability provisions do not limit mandatory consumer rights, including applicable digital-service conformity rights.

These Terms supplement and do not replace the standard Apple End User License Agreement that applies to the iOS app. If a mandatory App Store term conflicts with these Terms for an App Store transaction, the mandatory App Store term controls.

5. AI-Generated Content

  • All generated content is provided as a preparation aid only. It does not constitute certified pedagogical content.
  • The teacher is solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and adapting all generated content before using it in the classroom or distributing it to students.
  • Generated content may contain inaccuracies. Draft My Lesson does not guarantee the pedagogical, scientific, or factual accuracy of any content produced.
  • You retain ownership of the content you generate and may use, modify, and distribute it freely in the context of your teaching activities.
  • By using the service, you grant Draft My Lesson a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use generated content in anonymized form for the purposes of improving the service, compiling statistics, and demonstrating capabilities.

6. Student Data Protection

Draft My Lesson is designed to protect student privacy:

  • Students are identified solely by pseudonyms. You must never enter the real name, address, or any other personally identifiable information (PII) of any student.
  • The teacher is the data controller for any student data. Draft My Lesson acts as a data processor for contextual pedagogical data only.
  • No student PII is transmitted to artificial intelligence models.
  • For users in the United States: you acknowledge your obligations under FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) and COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act). Draft My Lesson is not intended to collect personal information from children under 13, and teachers must not input such information into the service.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service to generate illegal, discriminatory, harmful, or otherwise objectionable content.
  • Attempt to circumvent usage quotas, rate limits, or security measures.
  • Use the service in any automated manner (scraping, bots) without prior written authorization.
  • Resell or redistribute raw AI-generated output without meaningful pedagogical adaptation or added value.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

  • The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
  • Draft My Lesson does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or the accuracy of any generated content.
  • Draft My Lesson shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of or inability to use the service or any content generated by it.
  • Draft My Lesson does not guarantee permanent storage of generated lessons. You are responsible for downloading and backing up your content (PDF or DOCX exports). In the event of data loss due to a technical incident, no liability shall be assumed.
  • You are solely responsible for verifying and backing up all generated content before use.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Draft My Lesson's aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or related to these Terms or the service shall not exceed the total amount you have paid to Draft My Lesson in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim. If you have not paid any amounts, our aggregate liability shall not exceed ten US dollars ($10.00 USD).

10. Account Deletion

You can export or delete your account from Settings in the iOS app. You may also request deletion by contacting [email protected]. A deletion request may remain pending while the server removes account data from the database, files, search index, and analytics systems. Completion is irreversible. Lessons, student pseudonyms, classes, and stored documents associated with the account are permanently deleted, except records we must retain for billing, fraud prevention, or legal obligations.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a notification within the application. Your continued use of the service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are interpreted under the mandatory laws applicable within the European Union. The parties will first seek an amicable solution by contacting the service email. If no agreement is reached, jurisdiction is determined by the applicable procedural and consumer-protection rules.
