Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Draft My Lesson, the AI-powered lesson planning tool for English-speaking teachers.
How it works
What is Draft My Lesson and how does it work?
Draft My Lesson is an AI-powered lesson planning tool built specifically for English-speaking teachers in the US, UK, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. You select your subject, grade level, and topic, and the AI generates a complete, curriculum-aligned lesson plan in under a minute. Each lesson includes a detailed teacher plan, a ready-to-print student handout or worksheet, and exercises or homework assignments.
What exactly does the AI generate for each lesson?
For every lesson, Draft My Lesson produces three components: a structured lesson plan with objectives, timing, and teaching notes; a student handout or worksheet formatted for classroom use; and a set of exercises or homework tasks matched to the lesson content. All three documents are generated together and can be exported individually or as a bundle.
How does student and class memory work for tracking progression?
Every time you validate a lesson, Draft My Lesson summarizes it and stores it in the student's or class's history. The AI uses this accumulated history to ensure consistent progression from one lesson to the next, avoiding repetition and building on previously covered material. This means your lessons stay coherent over weeks and months without you having to manually brief the AI each time.
Can I edit the AI-generated lesson content before using it?
Yes. After generation, you can request AI-powered corrections by typing specific instructions, and the lesson will be regenerated accordingly. You can also edit the text directly in the built-in editor, making any adjustments you need before exporting. The editor includes AI-assisted corrections to help refine wording, fix formatting, or adjust difficulty level.
How is Draft My Lesson different from using ChatGPT for lesson planning?
Unlike general-purpose AI chatbots, Draft My Lesson is purpose-built for teachers. It understands curriculum standards, remembers your students' progression across lessons, and outputs properly formatted documents ready for the classroom. You do not need to write prompts or re-explain your class context every time. The result is a structured, exportable lesson plan rather than a wall of chat text.

Data & security
Is my data secure on Draft My Lesson?
Your data is stored on secure, encrypted servers. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms and are never stored in plain text.
